How do I change from a POP email account to a IMAP email account?

The procedure for changing your email account type is the same for all email clients.

1. Create a new email account in your mail client. Be sure to choose IMAP. (see tutorial)

2. Fill in your settings that were listed in your "New Account" email.

3. When the account is setup and working, drag all of your wanted email into the inbox of your new IMAP account.

4. Once you are sure your email is now sitting in your IMAP account, delete your old pop account.

Important Note: IMAP accounts can take up a lot of disk space and resources. It is possible that your current hosting plan is not well suited for large IMAP accounts. We recommend all clients periodically archive older emails to a local folder in their mail client to keep your mailbox tidy. You can even setup a filter in your mail client to move older mail to a local folder. This will ensure you do not run out of resources and will provide the best and fastest experience.
